"In January of 2006, I was battling
severe migraines. I had been disabled for months with
ongoing back pain, was overweight, and was quickly
approaching my 60’s. I realized if I didn’t address my
health issues, retirement would be sadly less enjoyable
than I’d hoped it would be. I began researching options
with strong motivation.
Everything I’d heard and read about Pilates indicated a strong
focus on strengthening the back and abdominal muscles
while developing flexibility; these goals were of real
interest to me. From my first session at Mind’s Eye
Movement Pilates Studio, I felt I had found an
answer to my problems. Kimberly helped me understand –
in clear and precise but simple ways – how my body
works, and what I needed to do to become stronger and
healthier. After five sessions, I was convinced Pilates
was the right path and that Kimberly was the trainer to
help reach my goals.
More than a year’s
worth of Pilates training later, I've lost a
substantial amount of weight (40 pounds). My body is
stronger and sleeker, and I move more efficiently than
ever before. My posture has improved. I stand taller and
actually "grew” an inch. Back aches and migraines are
rare now. I can work in the yard without fear, and
routinely walk three miles each day and swim at the
local pool. I feel terrific!
Others notice the
changes as well. I attribute this to Kimberly’s teaching
– a combination of gifted talent, compassion, and a
wealth of knowledge about the mind/body connection.
Pilates has become increasingly important to me and has
improved my overall well-being more than any other
activity. I have increased strength and flexibility, and
aging has become less daunting. I am more confident,
healthier and happier. Mind’s Eye Movement Pilates
Studio and Kimberly’s personalized attention to my
needs continue to help me live an increasingly
challenging and rewarding life."
